Once the new crew arrived, the next question followed naturally: how do these workers move? Version 0.26 is the step towards coworkers with more presence on the shop floor. You can greet a friend, take a dance break and watch the shift from behind your own character.

Two views of the same shift

Press V to switch between first- and third-person cameras. Follow products through your own eyes or watch your worker move through the gallery; both views are available in the same session. The third-person camera adjusts when a wall gets between you and the character.

An optional automatic camera change can show a heavy fall from outside. A new application launch still begins in first person; the camera choice you make during play belongs to that session.

A quick hello between jobs

B opens the emote menu, with eight gestures in this version. Upper-body gestures can play while your legs keep moving, so a greeting does not have to bring the whole journey to a halt. Wave across the corridor and keep heading towards the boxes.

Getting control back matters just as much. Full-body dancing stops when movement, work, a jump or an impact takes over. The shift has room for a small dance break; returning to work does not require waiting for the choreography to finish.

Footsteps and mishaps

Walking, running, sprinting and crouching playback have been matched to movement speed. Work motions, gestures and impact reactions are handled separately so their transitions read more clearly. The aim is a body that gives you a better sense of what its worker is doing.

Slips, different impacts, cart collisions and recovery also have distinct reactions. These are developing character animations; they do not represent a complete physical ragdoll system.

What comes after eight?

This article records the eight-emote stage of 0.26. The menu expands to twelve in 0.27, when hands also become a more visible part of carrying boxes, pushing carts and cleaning the floor.
